It was fantastic to be involved in the Run Skibbereen Event on Sunday 13th July. An Early start for us at 830am but it was a great event with a superb atmosphere of supporters for the 10km and half marathon runners.

Saturday 5th July 2025: South of Ireland Band Championships, Clonakilty
It was a fantastic day out in Clonakilty for the South of Ireland Band Championships. We entered the Junior Category playing at 930am and then headed out to Scally's Supervalu for 1030am for a short recital. There were many bands out and about from all over Ireland and some visitors from Wales and Scotland too. The Old Time fair was also on adding to the atmosphere throughout the town.
We had a great result coming 2nd again in the Junior Category and our Horn player, Leo, won the Jack O'Mahony cup for best musicianship with his horn solo for The Final Countdown.

The Brass Experience, Skibbereen Saturday 7th September 2024
We were very pleased to host a special brass experience day in Skibbereen Farmer's Market on Saturday 7th September. We had the 1st Brigade Army Band from Cork who opened the event playing 11am to 12 noon with their talented conductor Captain Ben Jacob. We then followed with our own recital 12 noon to 1pm. After us came the Bandon Concert band with their Charismatic conductor Leo Guedan who played 1pm to 2pm. Finally the day closed with a joint recital between ourselves and the Bandon Concert Band, conducted by Leo. The local crowd were thrilled to be entertained with over 3 hours of brass and wind band music.
After the event we had refreshments provided by Christian and Marie from the Wild Ways restaurant (opening soon), The Church Restaurant, Drinagh Spar and Fields Supervalu of Skibbereen. A great day that we can hopefully build on next year.
