The band played for the finale of the Taste of West Cork food fair in Skibbereen town. The were loads of stalls showcasing produce from around West Cork. We played our full programme which went down well with the crowd on the day.
We would like to sincerely acknowledge the financial contributions made by individuals, families, and friends of St.Fachtna's Silver Band. Without your support, it's maintenance would be impossible.

Our second engagement was on Sunday and saw us contributing to the 100th year celebrations of the Baltimore Lifeboats. Despite the rain the was a good attendance to see the new boat and enjoy the music on offer.
We had a busy weekend in Baltimore. Saturday we played for the West Cork Forum for a Taste of West Cork. It was a lovely spot down in the Baltimore Harbour next to the sailing club and we tried some of our new pieces which worked very well as additions to our programme.

This year saw the return of the Skibereen Soul Festival. St Fachtna's Silver Band played in the Fairfield market to the attending crowd. There were other soul bands playing in the streets and bars throughout the town for the rest of the weekend. It was a great weekend with a party atmosphere.
Ballydehob have been running their summer festival for 28 years, and so far St Fachtna's Silver Band have been pleased to have played at its launch every year. This year saw some good crowds, fancy dress parades, turnip racing and barrow racing. Well done to all involved in organising this local event.

We had a busy weekend with the Castletownshend Parade and the Castlehaven Maritime Mass. The Friday saw a good night with a crowd attending the parade followed by a short drama production. On Sunday we went on to play some hymns at the Maritime Mass in Castlehaven, joined by the Coastguard with their sea shanty. A great weekend, well done all.
